Hobbies: CrossFit. Adventure. Travel. Beaches.
Favourite Countries: Thailand and Indonesia
Languages: English. Broken English. Indo-English.
Favorite Travel Experience: Favorite is a hard thing to narrow down. Every backpacking trip on has been different and amazingly educational. I tend to live one week at a time and just go with the flow. I feel this is the best way to explore and allow myself to take in and take on the best of what each country and experience has to offer. I usually buy a one way ticket in, hit up a hostel, meet other travelers and just see where it all takes me. I’ve never been as free as when I backpack and travel, the world is truly your oyster. No plans, no itinerary just and open mind to SEE AND DO EVERYTHING!
Worst Travel Experience: Any sickness crushes you when not in your own home or with your own pharmacy. In Asia I felt I always had some sort of stomach bug but it comes and goes and sometimes you just have to deal with it. Week long digestive problems suck the life out of you. My 24 hour layover during a 30 hour flight home sucked hard last year. No English, no kindness, no help from anyone. Sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches.. Have I ever regretted any of it? Hell no! Life is short, LIVE IT UP!
☆ CrossFit L1 Trainer
Dave Driskell Grew up in Southern California, USA. He loves the ocean, barely surfs but grew up playing soccer (or football as everyone else in the world calls it) and that was really all he new of sports. It wasn’t till later on in his late 20's that he discovered CrossFit, which captivated him from the first crushingly hard WOD. In Jan 2012 he became a certified Crossfit Coach and 1 month later he was Backpacking SE Asia for the next 5 months while wodding any place or with any object he could find. The wanderlust in him was ignited and still moves him to this day.
In 2013 he went on a 2 month backpacking adventure which then turned into a 10 month life in Indonesia, coaching at new boxes in Jakarta and on the island of Bali.
